ACI Roundtable: Cooperatives and Sustainable Development in Appalachia: A conversation about opportunities and challenges
Primary tabs
Cooperatives are democratic enterprises with embedded values of self-help, solidarity, and equity. From farmers marketing their products to consumers accessing new or affordable goods and services to workers democratically owning their workplace, the model is being applied across Appalachia.
Join us as we discuss the co-op model, the potential relationship between cooperatives and sustainable development goals, current efforts to support a cooperative ecosystem in central Appalachia, and opportunities and barriers to cooperatives in our region. Panelists will include Todd Nesbitt, Professor at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania; Myrisa Christy, Project and Development Specialist with KCARD; and Hannah Scott, Program Director at The Ohio State University CFAES Center for Cooperatives. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own experiences and questions to share as part of this moderated conversation.
Registrants will receive a confirmation email containing Zoom connection details for the call.
