From Wilmington to Wooster and beyond, the CFAES Center for Cooperatives team and partners have been out and about across Ohio and the country learning about cooperatives, sharing co-op learning and business resources, and connecting with the community.
- Hannah Scott, program director, and Christie Welch, program specialist with the OSU South Centers, along with Mr. Luke Rhonemus of Ohio Valley Career & Technical Center, shared the “Student Cooperative Start-up Toolkit” developed as part of a recent Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) project at the Ohio Agricultural Education Summer Conference at Wilmington College in southern Ohio.
- Hannah Scott, program director, visited Green Field Farms, a farmer-owned cooperative, in Wooster, Ohio, for a tour and learning exchange between the cooperative and Ohio State faculty and staff.
- As part of the Appalachia Contacts to Contracts Conferenced hosted by the Minority Business Assistance Center program of the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce, Hannah Scott, shared resources for southern Ohio food and farm entrepreneurs to develop their businesses.
- Colleagues from across Ohio State University Extension visited The Ohio State University South Centers in Piketon, Ohio, to explore programs and research, connect with specialists, and identify opportunities for collaboration. Hannah Scott and Christie Welch shared cooperative and direct food and agricultural marketing programs.
- Melissa Whitt, program specialist, attended the 2024 Association of Cooperative Educators (ACE) Annual Institute in Bismarck, North Dakota, to learn from and connect with cooperative developers and educators from across North America!
